Day 6. Banlung (Ratanakiri). Trekking (3-4 hours by hiking)
Departure to Taveng Village, heading towards Laos. Firstly we cross Veyrum Plang, a lava field in the middle of a forest. A little ahead there is a small waterfall (only visible during rainy season) surrounded by The Tiger´s caves. Once we reach Kroeung village, we start our trekking. On the way, we see some beautiful villages which belong to the Kroeung Minority. This minority has the distinction of building small huts tied to long bamboo stems. These huts are used as a temporary house by the daughter as she reaches marriage age. During that period, she occupies the hut alone, in order to welcome those suitors wishing to marry her. Once the marriage is consumated, the little hut is destroyed. The last 2 hours of our trip we walk through an ancient trail that used to link two nearby villages. Nowadays, the trail is fallen out of use due to the discovery of the motorcycle. The villagers prefer to take the new paved road.
The excursion will take us through the village´s crops. Then, we trek downhill by a very steep track through a bamboo forest and through a slippery stream – the only route if we want to reach the next village. To end the day we trek one more hour til we reach the place where our transport is waiting to take us back to the hotel stopping for a picnic lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Banlung hotel.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE
The organizing agency reserves the right to alter or change the itinerary of either the classic or the trekking activity due to worsening operating conditions such as road or trail conditions, floods, rivers low water level, villages relocated or any other factor which could force such a measure. In this case the agency will always try to find an alternative as similar as possible to the original one.
