WHO HAS SAID CAMBODIANS BUSES ARE NOT COMFORTABLE?
Autopullman, air conditioning, reclined seats, hostess who serves you drinks and snacks for free, bathroom, bus tickets with a seat number assigned and the luggage is very good keep in the trunk. Who has said Cambodian buses are bad, uncomfortable or dirt? Lucky us, this belongs to the past. The line Phnom Penh - Siem Reap is covered for this kind of busses and the rest is covered by a normal ones.
Travel by Cambodian bus is not a boring and interminable ride. Dimensions of the country are not so big, which means all the bus ride are not taking more than 6-7 hours. Besides, the majority of the roads are news.
Cambodian people are so nice, friendly and kind that they can share their drinks and food with you. They are surprisingly extrovert people. Their spontaneous questions about our private life will surprise us in a good way. When someone is travelling around Cambodia by public bus, there is no way you can not "make some friends".
We offer a list of optional visits which you can book and also take a look in our webpage "Our circuits - Optional visits".

Day 4. Banlung (Ratanakiri)
We depart by road towards Laos to visit Taveng Village using prívate transport. We drive through the volcanic landscape of Veyrum Plang, a lava field in the middle of a forest where a small waterfall is located (only visible during the rainy season), and what it is known among the locals as “The Tiger Cave”. Heading North to Taveng we drive through many different landscapes: Jungle, bamboo forests, and several kinds of bush. On our way we stop in some beautiful villages located far away from the forest, inhabited by the Kroeung minority people. This minority has the distinction of building small huts tied to long bamboo stems. A daughter of marrying age uses these huts as a temporary home. During that period, she occupies the hut alone, in order to welcome those suitors willing to marry her. Once the marriage is consummated, the little hut is destroyed. We have lunch by a small waterfall or somewhere en route before continuing our visits to a few more villages. Finally we head out to visit Yeak Lom Volcanic Lake (6 Km from Banlung) on our way to the hotel. This is a magnificent place surounded by a lush tropical forest. Once there we can swim or take a short trek around the Lake. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 5. Banlung (Ratanakiri)
Today we depart in an easterly direction. We drive through a bamboo forest on our way to Voeune Saï (35 Km), located in the left bank of The Sé San River. We stop several times en route to visit rubber plantations, schools, rice fields, villages etc.
After leaving our car behind we continue on a ferry accross the river. The landscape at the other side is quite beautiful. Here we find a Chinese community, settled in Cambodian territory, where some villagers do not even speak the Khmer language. We stop here to enjoy our picnic lunch.
Afterwards we drive out along the Sé San River to Kachon village, and then we hop on to a local boat. Upstream there are an uncertain number of Kachak villages whose habitants celebrate funerals with wooden sculptures, which represent a snapshot of the deceased´s lifetime. After visiting the tótems, we return to the boat to start the trip back to pick up our car, and afterwards drive out to take a look at a few waterfalls (10-12 km). Teuk Cha Ong is the most impresive one among them, located next to O´Katchagn and O´Katieng.
Back to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE

About Cambodian coaches and buses
All buses are regular line coaches. They have numbered, reclining seats and air-conditioning. The luggage is placed in a specially designed compartment.
The route Phnom Penh - Siem Reap is operated by limousine buses with WC inside the vehicles and stewardess who serves snacks and fresh water.
Smoking is not allowed in buses.
The buses make frequent stops to allow passengers to use the services of restaurants where it easy to find water and soft drinks, food and snacks.
The route runs along paved roads, some totally new or remodeled, others in reasonable good condition.
The arrival and departure times are fixed.
The longer sections are about 300 km (6 hours) except from Phnom Penh/Siem Reap to Banlung, capital of Ratanakiri. This one takes about 10 to 12 hours. The average speed is about 50 Km / hour.

Cambodians are very open people who love talking and sharing food and drink. Foreigners are often the "stars" in a crowded local bus. Travelling by bus gives you the opportunity to really capture the real Cambodia, non-touristy, the real thing. And of course, it is almost impossible not to end up by "making friends".

Collective service
Travelling by public regular bus means that services are always provided collectively.
If several people from different travel agencies are traveling at the same time, they may share the services in the sections where included, such as tour guide and transfers to / from hotel. In this case, it is understood that visits scheduled may be shared; including the sections operated by private transport.
In the above event, the maximum number of participants in one group would be 14 people.
